Geisinger offers a Nursing Assistant role with a $1500 sign‑on bonus for eligible candidates, a starting wage of $15.75 per hour and up to $3 shift differentials for evening, night and weekend shifts. Up to $40,000 in financial support is available to become a nurse.
Job SummaryResponsible for performing a wide range of clerical duties and direct patient care activities, supporting the care team in providing quality care. Positions are in the Infant Toddler Medical Surgical Unit at CH2 Children's Hospital.
Responsibilities- Provide patient care within the nursing assistant scope of practice as directed by nurses.
- Observe, document, and report physical needs and changes in patient condition to licensed personnel.
- Maintain specimen integrity and transport conditions.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, hygiene, and changing linens.
- Provide one‑to‑one patient safety watch.
- Perform point‑of‑care testing and equipment maintenance.
- Assist in problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and corrective measures for equipment and supplies.
- Serve as a preceptor and mentor for new staff and students.
- Perform clerical duties for admissions, transfers, discharges, and deaths.
- Coordinate transportation of patients for tests and communicate test results.
- Order supplies and communicate with food services and equipment maintenance.

Three 12‑hour night shifts (7:00 pm‑7:30 am) including every other weekend and holiday.
OrientationTwo‑week classroom orientation:
Monday‑Friday, 7:00 am‑3:30 pm.
High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of one year related work experience preferred.
CertificationNone required; comprehensive on‑the‑job training provided.
