We are now looking for a Senior Manager, Design to plan and manage all design-related matters for hotel development projects, and ensure Company Design Standards are carried out across all projects at all times.
As a Senior Manager, Design, we will rely on you to:- Drive innovative designs and ensure to meet all Company Design Standards and expectations of guest comfort, safety, and service in all guest contact areas.
- Coordinate with various functional heads to formulate design standards; work with suppliers/contractors, appointed consultants and hotel operators during all stages of projects to ensure practical, effective and durable designs at indicated budget.
- Monitor the established work schedule and progress of all relevant parties to ensure all design-related matters are executed on time, rectifications, and improvements are documented.
- Keep abreast of development in the hospitality, tourism and other relevant industries and apply new ideas and concepts accordingly. Provide solutions for rectification and improvement programmes.
- Work closely with the Procurement team and oversee budget review, material research, tender evaluation and interview with potential bidders. Prepare cost projections for permit and construction impact fees, and verify calculation and schedule payment of funds.
- Review drawings and tender documents and liaise with Division Heads to address delays and challenges.
- Create a reference library on designs, new products, technical specifications, materials, etc. Update approved changes to Company Design Standards on a regular basis.
- Conduct site visits to ensure that approved designs, standards and quality are met and document any deviations.
- Monitor and assess the performance of Interior Design consultants, mentor and supervise Design Managers where required.
- Degree in Architecture, Interior Design or related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience with at least 5 years in a senior managerial capacity.
- Experience in managing multiple projects from conceptual design to completion. Experience in luxury hotels or large-scale mixed-use development projects is preferred.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Fluency in Mandarin would be an advantage. Excellent presentation and communication skills, ability to articulate ideas verbally, in writing and drawing.
- Strong leadership, ability to oversee managers, and monitor consultants to achieve deliverables.
