Dewberry is currently seeking a Project Architect in our Danville, VA office. We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated individual with a drive to develop creative architectural design solutions for clients in the local, state and federal markets.

The candidate must be a self-starter, understand the technical details of building assembly, and be able to maintain design intent while offering design improvement and collaboration throughout the process. Must be proficient in developing construction documents, including drawings and specifications, and be able to take minimal instruction and advance projects or project components. This person should be able to relate project information between clients, other design disciplines and contractors, and should have the desire to understand full project information from design through construction.

• Lead and develop detailed design and production of construction documents.
• Develop specifications, perform material/product selection and research.
• Perform code analysis.
• Assist designers and project managers with conceptual input on assigned projects.
• Monitor scope, schedule, and budget for architectural aspects of projects.
• Develop discipline work plans, tasking, supervision, and mentoring of assigned project personnel.
• Review construction phase shop drawings and assemble requests for proposals, change orders, and closeout documentation.
• Participate in the firm’s QA/QC program by serving as architectural discipline checker on assigned projects.
• Provide assigned collateral duties related to team operations.
• Assist in production standards.
• Perform other related work as appropriate or assigned.

• Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture required.
• 3‑8 years of experience required.
• Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office.
• Professional registration as an Architect, licensed to practice in the U.S., preferred but not required.
