Your Day at Lowe’s

You will welcome customers, help them find the right products and services, and ensure all customer needs are met. Your responsibilities may vary by department (Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services).

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
  • Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
  • Manage inventory by restocking shelves and replenishing supplies.
  • Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise on time.
  • Cross‑train in other store areas to help deliver the best customer service.
  • Prepare merchandise in your department based on customer needs (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe, cut and bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds).
  • Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 months experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
  • 6 months experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
  • Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction).
  • Able to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to complete job duties.
  • Minimally lift 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with or without an accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
  • Bi‑lingual skills.
  • Certification in a trade related to the department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber/building materials).

Travel Requirements

This role does not require regular travel; however, it may require occasional travel to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores.

Working Conditions

Environmental factors vary by location. You may be working in both inside and outside weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions. You may be exposed to constant or intermittent noises. Lifting methods vary—single lifts are limited to 75 pounds; team lifts are used when needed. Powered equipment should be used with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
