What You’ll Do:- Locate buried facilities near the route of "B" service wire using appropriate equipment.
- Operate a company vehicle with trailer and machinery.
- Locate buried facilities near the route of buried wire using equipment.
- Perform manual excavation using a shovel.
- Provide repairs to low‑voltage buried utilities or sprinkler systems; make temporary repairs to such utilities damaged during other duties.
- Perform periodic maintenance and non‑complex repairs on the equipment used in your duties.
- Read and interpret simple instructions.
- Follow established safety practices and procedures, including manufacturer’s specifications for operation or use of equipment.
- Work Monday through Friday, 8‑hour shifts.
- Be available for mandatory overtime and holidays as conditions require.
- Be eager to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Use various machines and tools.
- Lift and move objects up to 120 pounds.
- Use computers and handheld devices to update work status and check new assignments.
- Hold a light commercial driver’s license or equivalent; be able to drive a manual shift where required.
- Maintain a DOT medical card.
- Complete on‑the‑job and/or classroom training as required.
- Demonstrate competency during probation to satisfy qualification requirements.
- Other operating experience with similar equipment is desirable.
- Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
- May be required to travel outside your region/state due to workload or emergency work.
Machine operators earn between $442 – $1,094 weekly. Starting salary averages $51,064 per year, varying by geography, experience, and training.
