SUMMARY
Seeking an Assistant Professional to assist the Head Professional, as well as the duties and responsibilities listed below. Responsibilities are rotated on a yearly basis to allow individuals to develop all of skills necessary to become a head golf professional.
- To spread hospitality and goodwill amongst all members and guests.
- To promote and stimulate the game of golf at Wee Burn.
- To assist members and guests as needed and with all requests.
- Perform duties in accordance with the policies and procedures as outlined by the Head Professional.
- Exceed member expectation with customer service.
- Understand and administer the club rules and policies.
- Compete in the Met PGA section at a high level and provide best-in-class instruction for our members.
- Tournament administration includes assisting with the ladies 9 and 18-hole groups.
- Prepare and promote member events using the club website and email communications, including weekly results.
- Write instruction articles/videos for the club website.
- Assist with Junior Golf (spring, summer and fall sessions).
- Golf instruction:
Individual lessons, clinics, and golf schools. - Club fitting using vendor fit carts and Trackman launch monitor.
- Responsible for one hard good and one soft goods vendor. This will entail inventory and confirmation for accounts payable.
- Soft and hard goods check-in, pricing and display and all other professional shop services.
- Assist with the Annual Member-Guest and Member-Member tournaments.
- Play golf with the membership, including the season-long Play with the Pro, and working on your personal game as time permits.
- Assist the entire golf staff in monitoring the pace of the golf course using Tag Marshal tracking system.
- Responsible for demo club equipment check-in and inventory every Tuesday and Thursday.
- A willingness to do anything to help you professionally.
- A proven track record of career advancement for staff members. 13 former staff members have advanced to Head Professionals.
- An outstanding work and learning environment.
- Encouragement to participate in tournament golf.
- A management style that understands that there is life beyond work. Time away from work is very flexible. All staff members are encouraged to take up to a week off in August.
The position is currently a seasonal job for a minimum of 6, but up to 8 months depending on the individual and staffing needs at the time. There is the possibility of a flexible start date and end date based on the candidate’s current commitments. The work week is typically 48-60 hours with time and a half paid for hours over 40.
Individual lessons will be based on the candidate’s teaching ability and on the relationships formed around the club and on the course.
- Wages depending on weeks worked will range from $40,000-$50,000 at an hourly rate of $24-$25
- Based on historical records, first year lessons, including junior golf, will range from $8,. All of this is individual and experience dependent.
- Tournament/education allowance of $1,500
- Housing available.
- Total compensation will likely range from $48,000-$70,000 for 6-8 months.
