Audit and Accounts Associate

Ambition UK is recruiting on behalf of a Top Regional UK Accountancy Firm.

Starting your career in audit and accounts should be exciting, challenging and rewarding. In this role, you'll work with a diverse range of innovative businesses across the North‑East and Yorkshire, gaining hands‑on experience in both statutory audit and accounts preparation.

You'll benefit from modern digital tools and practical, real-world training — building the technical skills, confidence and professional foundation needed to progress quickly.

• Preparing accounts using systems such as Sage
  , Xero
  , and Quick Books
• Supporting onsite audits as part of an experienced audit team
• Drafting corporation tax computations and assisting with client queries
• Reviewing and actioning points raised by managers and tax specialists
• Acting as a point of contact for clients on day‑to‑day matters
• Visiting clients across the region and building strong professional relationships

We value enthusiasm, potential, and a genuine desire to learn — not just prior experience.

• AAT Level 3/4,
  or a degree,
  or 2 A‑Levels at A*-C (or equivalent)
• Ambition to build a long‑term career in accountancy
• Strong communication skills across face‑to‑face, phone and email
• Good IT skills (especially Excel)
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Proactive problem solver with strong organisational skills
• Flexible, adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities
• Willingness to travel to client sites

• Relevant audit or accounts experience
• Familiarity with software such as Xero, Quick Books, Sage or Iris
• Experience delivering excellent client or customer service

• Professional training: Full study support for AAT/ACA/ACCA
• Real client exposure: Work with a wide variety of industries and sectors
