Hours:

Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 3:30pm.

We are recruiting an experienced Joiner to work on behalf of the council in the Darlington area. This long‑term opportunity is within a busy responsive repairs environment, carrying out high‑quality 2nd‑fix maintenance in domestic properties.

• Reactive maintenance repairs in occupied homes.
• 2nd‑fix joinery tasks including: hanging and adjusting doors; replacing skirting boards and architraves; laying flooring; boxing in pipework; other associated joinery maintenance.
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with council requirements.
• Delivering a professional and customer‑focused service to tenants.

• £18 per hour.

• Consistent Monday‑Friday working hours.
• Opportunity to work on a well‑established council contract.

• City & Guilds or NVQ qualification in Carpentry or Joinery.
• Previous experience working within social housing or council maintenance.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced responsive repairs environment.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
