At Octavius, we’re driving our Highways business forward and are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen our ambitious team working in and around the M25. This role is based in Hatfield or Dartford, and you’ll spend 23 days a week in the office or on site. This approach helps our team build strong connections, collaborate effectively, and deliver exceptional results.

We are a leading civil engineering organisation delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will contribute to projects within the Highways division.

• Shape projects worth £510 million and take ownership of commercial activities.
• Subcontract procurement and commercial management.
• Cost planning, control, and financial progress reporting.
• Build strong client relationships and ensure delivery excellence.
• Mentor an Assistant or Graduate Quantity Surveyor and develop leadership capability.

• Experience: Senior QS or an experienced QS ready to step up
• Commercial expertise: Ideally in Highways projects in the range of £5-10 million
• Leadership: Ability to manage and mentor team members
• Technical know-how: NEC contracts is a must, COINS software (advantageous)
• Mindset: Analytical, organised, resilient, and a natural problem solver
