Permanent, Full-Time The Opportunity An established planning and development consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join its Strategic Planning team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated planning professional looking to work on a diverse portfolio of strategic land, residential, mixed-use and development plan projects across the UK. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering planning advice, managing projects, promoting strategic development opportunities, and supporting clients through complex planning processes.

Key Responsibilities Promote large-scale residential and mixed-use developments through Local Plan reviews, growth strategies and development plan processes. Prepare and coordinate planning applications from inception through to determination. Draft planning statements, representations, reports and strategic planning submissions. Represent clients at planning appeals, examinations, inquiries, committee meetings and stakeholder consultations. Manage project teams and coordinate multidisciplinary consultants. Undertake site appraisals, planning research and policy analysis.

Build and maintain strong client relationships. Support business development initiatives and contribute to winning new work. Mentor and supervise junior planning staff where appropriate. Manage multiple projects effectively while ensuring high-quality outputs and client service. About You

You will have:

A minimum of 5 years' post-qualification planning experience within a consultancy, local authority or related professional environment. Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation, policy and best practice. Experience working on strategic planning and development management projects. Excellent report writing, communication and presentation skills. Strong project management and organisational abilities. The ability to work independently while contributing positively within a collaborative team environment.

Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Desirable Skills Experience presenting at public meetings, inquiries or examinations. Experience managing project teams and supporting junior colleagues. Business development and client relationship management experience. Requirements RTPI membership (or working towards membership where appropriate). Right to work in the UK. Ability to travel to project sites and meetings as required.
