Overview

Learning Support Assistant. Are you a recent Psychology Graduate? Are you thinking of a career as a Psychologist or Counsellor and don't know where to start? Are you interested in special education?

A Specialist School in Gravesend are looking for a Psychology Graduate to work as a Learning Support Assistant and join their team as soon as possible. You will be working with children with a range of additional needs, including autism, speech and language needs, sensory processing disorders, physical disabilities and communication difficulties.

• Learn about the cognitive, behavioural and emotional needs of each student and how to attend to these.
• Identify triggers and barriers to learning, and apply knowledge of psychological theory in the classroom.
• Support students in small groups or on a 1-2-1 basis.
• Help ensure every pupil feels safe and supported in school, and contribute to making the classroom a fun and exciting place.

• Psychology Graduate (essential).
• Understanding of SEN and how it impacts learning.
• Bubbly, friendly with a can-do attitude.
• Great understanding of SEN; any previous experience working with children is beneficial (e.g., sports setting, babysitting, or personal experience).
