Are you passionate about supporting others to improve their health, wellbeing, and confidence? Do you want to make a positive difference through community-based learning? If so, we'd love to hear from you., Kent Adult Education's Response team is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Health and Fitness Tutor to deliver inclusive, engaging and practical sessions to adult learners. You'll be part of a supportive team working to improve health and wellbeing, build skills, and increase opportunities for adults in our communities.
Our programmes are designed to inspire positive lifestyle changes, support employability, and build self-esteem. As a tutor, you'll help learners develop healthy routines and improve their physical and mental wellbeing.
What You'll Do:You will deliver a variety of health, fitness, and wellbeing courses in face-to-face, and potentially, online settings. Programmes may include:
- Group exercise classes for beginners - various specialisms
- Fitness and movement for improved health - various specialisms
- Nutrition and healthy lifestyle education
- Building confidence through physical activity
- Accredited health and fitness courses, as a pathway to employment or further learning.
Courses are learner-centred and designed to be inclusive and accessible. Many learners may be returning to education for the first time or overcoming personal barriers to learning.
To succeed in this role, you will:- Hold relevant teaching and fitness/wellbeing qualifications (e.g. personal training, group exercise, health coaching, nutrition).
- Have experience of delivering sessions to adults in community or educational settings.
- Be passionate about making learning engaging, supportive and accessible to all.
- Be confident planning and delivering sessions for learners with a wide range of needs and backgrounds.
- Have a good understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice.
- Be flexible to deliver sessions during daytime, evenings, and school holidays (possible Saturdays by agreement).
- Be able to travel independently across the delivery area.
This role is subject to holding a Full UK Driving Licence - The Council is committed to making reasonable adjustments so whilst this job requires the jobholder to drive your application will still be considered if you are unable to drive due to a disability.
Requirements:- English and maths at Level 2 (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent).
- Ability to deliver sessions from Entry Level to Level 2, with potential to link to accredited outcomes.
