Our client – a well-established building services contractor with over 40 years of success – is expanding their team and looking for a talented Mechanical Estimator to support their continued growth. You will be required to travel to sites in London.

🔧 Key

Skills Required:

Strong mechanical engineering background with understanding of wider M&E disciplines
Excellent communication skills across all levels (internal and external)
High-level organisational and time management abilities
Energetic, proactive, and self-motivated
Demonstrated ability to estimate and secure projects up to £5M
Minimum 5 years' experience in HVAC-led project environments
Confident working both independently and within a team setting📋

Core Responsibilities:

Strictly apply the requirements of the ABSL Projects “Bid No Bid” protocols, escalating to management any queries.
Prepare all required project related estimates by reviewing/gathering contract detail, drawings, specifications and any other related documents, including on site attendance.
Manage all estimate deadlines in a priority and organised method.
Evaluate and highlight any operational and commercial risk before agreeing to proceed, following the requirements of the bid / no bid process.
Using Ametch identify and detail, in a transparent and modular method, all labour, material, specialist and time requirements offering the most compliant scope and cost, whilst achieving desired Margins per job.
Offer variant or valued engineering bids as and when required
Create depth to our Sub Contractor and Supply chain, by challenging the current base and introducing skilled alternatives.
Enhance our current costing database to be more uniformed and applicable to size/type of works in a “packaged” manner.
At inception of any accepted Project ensure the company Project “Handover and Mobilisation checklist” is completed to the required standard.
During handover detail any possible opportunities for contract variations or specific contract risk items are identified to the Project Management.
Be client facing when required and attend tender interviews and presentations.
Support with all Health and Safety issues.💼 What’s on
