Location: You can be based at one of our offices
- HQ Dartford, Cambridgeshire, Manchester, Birmingham, or Nottinghamshire - with travel across the UK as and when required.

We’re looking for a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager who can lead with insight, empathy and energy — someone who goes beyond the clipboard and truly connects with our people.

About the Role

You will be the strategic lead for health, safety and wellbeing across Expanded Piling, working across both Laing O'Rourke and external client projects. You will champion our Inclusion + Wellbeing (I+W) programme and help create a culture where safety is about relationships, trust and continuous learning.

What You’ll Do
  • Champion the I+W agenda across all operations and leadership levels
  • Coach project teams in engagement tools, positive investigations and appreciative enquiry
  • Lead health and safety assurance, risk reviews and strategic reporting
  • Influence behavioural change through authentic leadership and communication
  • Engage directly with clients, stakeholders and enforcement bodies
  • Drive learning culture and innovation in safety tools, technologies and practice
What You’ll Bring
  • Level 5 qualification in health and safety (minimum) and professional membership (e.g. IOSH)
  • Strong technical understanding of safety, environmental and occupational health risks
  • Proven leadership in high‑risk or complex construction environments
  • Confidence, empathy and credibility – you build trust and influence at all levels
  • A coaching mindset, with a proactive approach to change and collaboration
