The Company
A well-established manufacturing business specialising in high-quality engineered products is seeking to recruit a Production Supervisor to join its growing team.
Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will play a key role in leading production operations, ensuring customer orders are delivered on time, and driving quality, safety and continuous improvement across your area.
The Candidate You should have:- Previous supervisory experience leading a team of 10+ people
- Manufacturing experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Good organisational and planning ability
- Experience working to production schedules and KPIs
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
- The ability to motivate, coach and develop production teams
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Teams and email
- A flexible approach with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Lead, motivate and support a production team to achieve daily production targets
- Plan and organise shop floor production to meet customer delivery schedules
- Allocate workloads and manage workflow across the department
- Ensure production is carried out safely while maintaining high quality standards
- Promote and maintain 5S and safe working practices throughout the production area
- Monitor productivity and performance against company KPIs
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement improvements to increase efficiency
- Ensure production staff are working to the latest SOPs, engineering drawings, ECNs, CCNs and Quality Alerts
- Train, mentor and develop team members to improve flexibility across the production department
- Manage holidays, overtime, attendance and timekeeping
- Support the onboarding and training of new employees
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Stores and Production Control teams to ensure production objectives are achieved
- Liaise with the Production Manager regarding staffing, production issues and operational improvements
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing
- Carry out any other duties required to support the manufacturing operation
