We are currently seeking an experienced Materials Controller to join a busy residential development on a short-term basis.
This is a hands-on site-based role, responsible for ensuring that the correct materials are identified, picked and prepared for each plot in line with the project schedules.
The RoleWorking closely with the Site Management team, you will be responsible for reviewing the materials schedules and putting together the required items for each individual plot, ensuring materials are available and ready when needed.
Key materials will include:- Internal and external doors
- Door linings
- Balustrades
- Skirting
- Architrave
- Other plot-specific finishing materials
- Read and work from detailed materials and plot schedules.
- Identify the correct materials and quantities required for each plot.
- Pick and assemble materials intoplot-specific packs/kits.
- Ensure doors, linings, balustrades, skirting, architrave and associated materials are correctly matched to each plot.
- Check materials against schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Organise and label materials ready for delivery to individual plots.
- Monitor stock levels and highlight shortages or missing materials.
- Liaise with Site Management, suppliers and subcontractors regarding material requirements.
- Maintain an organised and efficient materials storage area.
- Ensure materials are handled and stored safely.
- Help minimise material shortages, waste and delays to the build programme.
- Previous experience in aMaterials Controller, Materials Coordinator, Stores or Site Logisticsrole.
- Experience working within a residential construction environment.
- Good knowledge of construction materials and finishing products.
- The ability to read and understand schedules and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly when picking materials for individual plots.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work methodically.
- A proactive approach and the ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with the site team.
This role would suit someone who is organised, practical and detail-focused, with a good understanding of how materials need to be prepared and coordinated to keep a residential development moving efficiently.
