Assistant Ripening & Quality Manager

Overview

A market leader in their sector, our Client is an established and highly successful Fresh Produce importer, working with an exciting portfolio of products destined for UK retailers. We are seeking an Assistant Ripening & Quality Manager based at a product-dedicated site to strengthen relationships with customers during a period of expansion.

Working closely with the ripening team, the Assistant Ripening & Quality Manager will ensure that all aspects of product quality are effectively communicated to the Production & QA Managers, ensuring customer expectations and specifications are not compromised, and providing recommendations as required.

• Provide ripe stock quality status, availability and projected availability to the daily production meeting
• Work closely with the Head of Quality, review monthly the ripening team's performance, KPIs and hold appraisals
• Recommend varietal usage for all added value lines and depot-specific where appropriate
• Manage the ripening team and provide cover to the QA team as required
• Take an active involvement in decision making daily

• Organised and methodical approach to raw materials management, allocation, and ripening
• Ripening exposure, with an understanding of product stock, allocation, release, etc.
• Knowledge of Fresh Produce / Fruit controls and processes

Hours:

Mon-Fri, 42.5 hours per week
