An established Aerospace company in Dartford is looking to recruit an experienced Quality Inspector to join its growing team.
The company has a long-standing reputation for manufacturing high-precision components for demanding industries including Aerospace and MOD/Defence, working to stringent customer specifications and quality requirements.
This would suit an experienced Inspector who is confident working independently within a precision machining environment and is looking for a stable, long-term position with genuine opportunities to progress.
The RoleWorking closely with Production and Quality, you'll be responsible for ensuring manufactured components meet the required drawing, customer and quality specifications.
- Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspection of precision machined components
- Completing and supporting FAIR / First Article Inspection Reports
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and customer specifications
- Performing detailed dimensional inspection against tight tolerances
- Using a variety of manual and digital inspection equipment
- Identifying and reporting non-conforming components
- Maintaining accurate inspection and quality documentation
- Liaising with machinists and production staff regarding quality requirements
The inspection department has access to a comprehensive range of equipment, including:
- Mitutoyo FN905 CMM
- Mitutoyo Roundness Tester
- Talysurf Surface Tester
- Mitutoyo Shadow Graph
- Digital Height Gauges
- Wide range of precision measuring equipment and gauges
CMM programming experience is NOT required.
What We're Looking ForIdeally, you'll have:
- Previous experience as an Inspector within precision engineering/manufacturing
- Strong first-off inspection experience
- Experience completing or contributing to FAIRs
- Ability to confidently read complex engineering drawings
- Ability to inspect components against customer specifications
- Good understanding of tolerances and dimensional inspection
- Confidence using conventional measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, height gauges and gauges
