Delivery Driver

Our stores are fast-paced environments where no two days are ever the same and food is our passion. As one of our Home Delivery Drivers, you’ll be one of the special ingredient that delivers everything our online customers shop at Sainsburys for.

• You must be over 18 and have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points on it.
• You will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of your interview and, if you’re successful, there will be a driving assessment when you join us.
• You must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK.

• Drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver groceries to customers’ doorsteps on time and in a great condition.
• Complete checks to ensure the van is organised, clean and roadworthy, and that delivery cases are secure before departing for delivery.
• Serve customers brilliantly, supporting with any questions and substitutions, and keeping them aware of any delays.
• Build knowledge about our products, services and promotions to help provide recommendations.
• When not out delivering, help across the store as needed.

• Friendly and welcoming with genuine enthusiasm for helping customers and providing the best doorstep experience.
• Proficient driving a large vehicle in different locations, from busy residential streets to narrow country lanes.
• Happy working in a fast-paced, physical and high-energy environment, using initiative to solve problems and thriving as part of a team.
• Always ready to work flexibly and productively to a high standard across the store when needed.
• Comfortable learning to use new digital tools and technology to do the job brilliantly, and able to move shopping containers up to 15 kg.
