Support Officer

Pay: £15.55 per hour PAYE

Job Type: Full Time, Temporary (until December 2026)

About the Role

We are looking for a Support Officer to support individuals who have fled domestic abuse and are living in safe accommodation. This role combines housing management and resident support, helping people maintain their tenancy, access services, and move towards independent living.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one support and create personalised support plans.
  • Complete needs and risk assessments and maintain accurate case records.
  • Support residents with housing, benefits, budgeting, and accessing external services.
  • Carry out tenancy sign-ups and explain tenancy responsibilities.
  • Assist with rent collection and help residents manage arrears.
  • Promote resident safety, wellbeing, and independence.
  • Work closely with local agencies and community services.
  • Help manage accommodation on behalf of the landlord, ensuring compliance and health & safety standards are met.
Skills & Experience Essential
  • Experience with in supported housing, homelessness, housing management, or support services.
  • Understanding of housing, homelessness, and welfare benefits.
  • Experience supporting vulnerable individuals.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage caseloads, maintain records, and work independently.
  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Desirable
  • Housing or Social Care qualification.
  • Experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse.
  • Ability to travel across the North Kent area when required.
