About the Role

The WCB Nova Scotia is seeking one (1) student to support day-to-day operations of our Procurement & Facilities team. The term runs from January 4, 2027, to April 30, 2027, for a period of 17 weeks. Our student employment program aims to provide students with valuable work experience that contributes to their education and helps them gain work experience. The Procurement Co-op Student will provide support in various procurement and facilities related areas that touch every aspect of the business operations.

Role Specific Duties

  • Create and issue purchase order numbers.
  • Gain hands-on procurement experience by creating purchase orders, validating supplier information, while ensuring compliance with our internal procurement process.
  • Maintain accurate records of contracts, policies, invoices, and reports.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, receiving, and maintenance of office supplies, furniture, and equipment.
  • Oversee meeting room bookings, setup, and space utilization to ensure excellent employee experience.
  • Support to both the procurement and facilities teams as needed.
Your Experience & Skills
  • Have or be completing the first year of a post-secondary program and enrolled in a co-op program (those contacted for an interview will be asked to provide confirmation of enrolment in a co-op program for the winter 2027 semester).
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills; able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
