Two (2) Continuing Full‑time Positions:
Commencing approximately August 17, 2026. This competition is for two positions with one specializing in Hematology and the other in Histology. Applicants will select their preference during the application process.

Salary Scale : NSCC Faculty salary scale ranges from $78,771.88 – $ per year. New Faculty may receive up to a maximum of nine steps for relevant experience and instructional periods. The maximum earnings for a new Faculty are $97,388.02.

Previous teaching experience or related experience in delivering educational programs or training adults would be an asset, but not required. If you have coached or trained coworkers or shared your knowledge in the lab, you already have valuable experience to build on.
QualificationsQualifications and Occupational Experience
- Minimum educational qualification:
Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) diploma from a recognized and accredited institution; licensed or eligible with the Nova Scotia Regulator of Medical Laboratory Science (NSRMLS) and a membership with the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS). A university degree is an asset. - At least five years (full‑time equivalent) of recent, relatable clinical laboratory experience with expertise in hematology and/or histology. Experience with other core or lab disciplines is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience liaising with business and industry in your field.
- Comfortable working in a digital environment and committed to using technology for an exceptional student experience, including multi‑media technologies and platforms for online and blended learning.
- Related experience in delivering educational programs or training adults is ideal.
- Experience providing performance feedback is an asset.
- Knowledge and experience in applying WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety, and occupation‑specific safety practices.
- Ability to teach effectively in an online/blended environment, including building courses delivered wholly or in part online, using a course management system to communicate with students and fostering an online learning community. Candidates without prior online/blended teaching experience must be willing to participate in training.

As a member of the School of Health and Human Services faculty team, you will:
- Provide theoretical and practical instruction in the Medical Lab Technology (MLT) program.
- Collaboratively design and deliver educational experiences for a diverse group of learners, including preparation, instruction, assessment, and evaluation using a broad range of flexible teaching and learning practices and technologies such as Learning Management Systems (e.g., Brightspace) and classroom technology.
- Ensure health and safety practices and procedures are followed in classrooms, shops, and labs.
