Salary Scale: NSCC Faculty ranges from $78,771.88 to $. New Faculty may receive up to nine steps (maximum $97,388.02) based on occupational and instructional experience.
Responsibilities- Provide theoretical and practical instruction in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning program.
- Collaboratively design and deliver educational experiences for a diverse group of learners, including preparation, instruction, assessment, and evaluation, using Learning Management Systems (e.g., Brightspace) and classroom technology.
- Ensure health and safety practices and procedures are followed in classrooms, shops, and labs.
- Maintain currency with the latest industry practices and develop a deep understanding of 21st‑century teaching and learning practices.
- Engage in various delivery modalities (in‑class, online, blended) and be flexible to alternate work hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Provide academic and career advisement, serve on committees, participate in program marketing, revise curriculum, support and monitor work placements, liaise with industry, represent the College, and uphold NSCC policies and procedures.
- Red Seal Journeyperson certification in Refrigeration and AC Mechanic.
- Minimum five years (full‑time equivalent) of recent and related journeyperson occupational experience; two years of training count toward educational requirements and are not part of the experience.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and e‑mail.
- Experience liaising with business and industry in the field.
- Comfortable working in a digital environment; committed to using technology to enhance student experience, including multimedia platforms for online and blended learning.
- Experience delivering educational programs or training to adults is preferred.
- Experience in providing performance feedback is an asset.
- Knowledge and experience applying WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety, and occupation‑specific safety practices.
- Proficiency in multimedia technologies and platforms that engage students online and blended.
- Ability to teach effectively in an online/blended environment, including managing courses and fostering an online learning community; willingness to undergo training if not previously experienced.

- Faculty members must complete a part‑time adult education program delivered by NSCC within the probationary period.
- Probationary, full‑time, or part‑time Faculty must successfully complete the program to achieve regular status.
- Term Faculty with terms of twelve or more months are also required to participate in the program.
- Candidates will be required to provide at least three recent occupational references and official transcripts showing academic achievements.
