Provides technical support to engineers to ensure timely completion of project design(s).
Job DescriptionThe Ultra Engineering function manages a portfolio of specialist capabilities, generating highly differentiated solutions by applying electronic, mechanical, and software technologies in demanding environments to meet customer needs.
The Electrical Engineering Technologist will work as part of a multi-disciplinary project team developing new and innovative electronics solutions to meet customer needs. Responsibilities include design, build, and testing of electrical systems and components; preparing and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications; conducting site inspections and ensuring safety compliance; troubleshooting with engineers and team members; routine maintenance and calibration of electrical equipment;
documenting progress through technical reports and presentations; supporting installation and commissioning; staying updated with industry trends.
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of industry experience.
- Ability to work on Canadian Controlled Goods and US ITAR controlled articles.
- Candidate must be capable of acquiring a NATO Reliability and Secret security clearance.
- Proficiency in electrical design, including wiring diagrams and PCB layouts.
- Familiarity with electronic lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers.
- Experience testing and troubleshooting circuit cards.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Soldering (IPC J-STD-001 certification preferred).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Will travel within Canada, US and overseas.
Typically, a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 3+ years of related experience. Associate Degree (or equivalent) preferred.
