• Conduct comprehensive site assessments to evaluate the extent of contamination and identify potential risks to human health and the environment.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation that outline findings from site assessments, including recommendations for remediation strategies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, geologists, and environmental scientists, to develop and implement effective remediation plans.
• Monitor and analyze environmental data to assess the effectiveness of remediation efforts and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies, clients, and stakeholders to communicate project progress and address any concerns related to contaminated sites.
• Participate in fieldwork, including soil and groundwater sampling, to gather data for environmental assessments.
• Utilize advanced software tools for data analysis, modeling, and reporting to enhance project outcomes.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in contaminated site management and remediation technologies.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals and bids for new projects, showcasing Gemtec’s expertise in contaminated site management.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
• Engage in continuous professional development to enhance technical skills and knowledge in environmental science and remediation practices.
• Contribute to the development of internal policies and procedures related to contaminated site assessments and remediation efforts.

• A degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in contaminated site assessment and remediation.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and standards applicable to contaminated sites in Canada.
• Proficiency in data analysis software and environmental modeling tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective reporting and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various project sites as needed.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to fieldwork and contaminated site management.

• Professional designation such as P.Eng, P.Geo, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with community engagement and public consultation processes related to environmental projects.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies and innovative practices in site remediation.
• Previous experience working with Indigenous communities or understanding of Indigenous rights related to land and environmental management.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and be proficient in using various environmental assessment tools and software, including GIS applications, environmental modeling software, and data management systems. Familiarity with laboratory analysis techniques and procedures for soil and water samples is also beneficial.
