Technical Publications Team Lead

Thales has a vacancy for a Team Lead, Technical Publications – a high-level individual contributor role designed to facilitate the day-to‑day coordination of the Technical Data Package (TDP) lifecycle. Reporting directly to the Technical Documentation Manager, this role supports the Manager by providing consistent workflow oversight, technical review, and process coordination within a complex defence environment. The Team Lead acts as a functional link between the Manager and the project teams, ensuring that documentation tasks stay on schedule and adhere to required standards.

• Operational Triage:
  Assist the Manager by triaging daily Document Change Package (DCP/r) requests and Problem Incident Reports (PIR), ensuring they are appropriately tracked and progressed through the lifecycle.
• Daily Workflow Oversight:
  Monitor the progress of tasks assigned to staff and contractors to ensure delivery timelines for major programmes are met, escalating potential bottlenecks to the Manager.
• Reporting & Visibility:
  Maintain and update dashboards and KPIs to provide a clear, real‑time view of technical data package status and team productivity.
• Documentation Standardisation:
  Develop and maintain work instructions, style guides, and instructional materials to assist the team in producing consistent, high‑quality output.

• TDP Gatekeeping:
  Perform thorough peer reviews and technical checks on various publications (CFTOs, LSARs, BOMs, and drawings) to ensure compliance with military and customer standards before final approval.
• Change Package Processing:
  Review and prepare disposition recommendations for Document Change Packages, liaising with technical contributors to address requirements and coordinate revisions
