The Position

The Director, Supply Chain is responsible for leading Mara’s global supply chain operations, ensuring efficient, reliable, and cost‑effective execution across procurement, contract manufacturing, logistics, and distribution. Reporting to the VP, Operations, this role supports the execution of supply chain strategy while driving continuous improvement across day‑to‑day operations. This position is ideal for a hands‑on leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is constantly identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance performance.

The Director will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment between demand, supply, and production, while building efficient and scalable processes to support growth. This is a hybrid role based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Key Responsibilities Supply Chain Execution & Team Leadership
  • Lead day‑to‑day supply chain operations across procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team across multiple locations and time zones.
  • Ensure strong execution, clear accountability, and alignment with operational priorities set by the business.
Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)
  • Lead the execution of the S&OP process, ensuring alignment between demand forecasts, supply planning, and production.
  • Facilitate monthly S&OP meetings with sales, marketing, and operations teams to support execution of the plan.
  • Implement inventory control practices to optimize stock levels and improve working capital efficiency.
  • Use data and reporting to identify gaps, improve forecast accuracy, and proactively address risks.
Procurement & Contract Manufacturing Management
  • Manage contract manufacturing and logistics partners to ensure cost, quality, and delivery performance meet business requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance using KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives with key partners.
  • Support supplier selection and onboarding in collaboration with the VP, Operations.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and manage ongoing vendor relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve service levels, and strengthen supplier reliability.
Logistics & Distribution
  • Oversee global logistics and distribution operations to ensure on‑time delivery and cost efficiency.
  • Manage warehouse and inventory processes to minimize stockouts, excess inventory, and inefficiencies.
  • Partner with logistics providers to improve transportation performance and optimize network efficiency.
Continuous Improvement & Operational Efficiency
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain to streamline processes and reduce costs.
  • Establish and track KPIs to monitor performance and drive accountability.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to improve efficiency and scalability.
Risk Management & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, trade requirements, and internal policies. Identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies in collaboration with the VP, Operations.
  • Support development of contingency plans to minimize disruption and maintain continuity.
Required Skills And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field.
