Utility Worker General Hospital

Support the cleanliness of Dartmouth General Hospital as a Utility Worker. This role focuses on various cleaning tasks including floor care, waste removal, and laundry in a casual relief capacity.

At Nova Scotia Health, you'll maintain the hospital's hygiene under the guidance of the Assistant Manager. Your responsibilities will encompass cleaning, mopping, dusting, and ensuring all areas are spotless.

Experience with floor care is preferred, along with effective communication skills and a Grade 12 or equivalent experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain all hospital areas

• Scrub and wax floors to ensure cleanliness

• Shampoo carpets and chairs as needed

• Handle regular and hazardous waste disposal

• Conduct laundry tasks and setups of patient rooms

Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 12/GED or equivalent experience

• Strong communication skills for teamwork

• Prior cleaning and floor care experience preferred

• Competencies in additional languages are an asset

• Flexibility for various shifts including weekends
