Halifax C&D Recycling part of The Municipal Group of Companies is currently seeking a bright, individual for the permanent, full-time position as a skilled Yard Labourer to join our operations based out of Dartmouth, NS.
Job Summary:
The Yard Labourer is responsible for sorting construction and demolition debris, operation of small equipment such as the forklift, and will be trained on the operation of the plastics baler and operation of the scale. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7am-5pm and every second Saturday from 8am-3pm.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Clean up and maintenance of yardRemove and sort rubble and other debris from the yardClean tools, equipment, materials and work areasSupply runs for parts for the mechanic shopOperate small equipment including skid steers, forklifts, small loaders and broomsPerform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labourBe aware of surroundings at all timesEnsure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the taskPerform other duties as requiredRequired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities,
Education and Experience:
Class 5 valid Driver’s LicenseExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to perform a variety of manual tasks requiring the use of independent judgment and actionAbility to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible mannerForklift experience considered an assetComply with all safety policies and proceduresA comprehensive pension and benefits package are offered with this position along with opportunities for advancement and training and development.
