- We are seeking an experienced CNC Applications Engineer / Advanced Machining Specialist to join a growing precision manufacturing team.
- This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced machinist with strong technical expertise in 5-axis CNC machining, mill/turn programming, setup, and optimization.
- The successful candidate will work with advanced 5-axis universal CNC mill/turn machining centres and play a key role in improving machining efficiency, quality, and production output.
The Role
- We are seeking an experienced CNC Applications Engineer / Advanced Machining Specialist to join a growing precision manufacturing team.
- This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced machinist with strong technical expertise in 5-axis CNC machining, mill/turn programming, setup, and optimization.
- The successful candidate will work with advanced 5-axis universal CNC mill/turn machining centres and play a key role in improving machining efficiency, quality, and production output.
- Create, modify, and optimize 5-axis mill/turn CNC programs
- Set up and operate CNC machining centres, including tool selection, work holding, offsets, and program verification
- Optimize machining processes to reduce cycle times, improve surface finishes, and extend tool life
- Manage pallet pools to maximize attended and unattended production
- Troubleshoot machining, programming, and automation issues
- Manage tool life and perform tool/insert changes as required
- Develop machining solutions for complex manufacturing challenges
- Support estimating and quoting by providing accurate machining cycle times
- Perform in-process inspection and maintain required inspection documentation
- Track material certifications throughout the manufacturing process
- Work closely with team members to ensure quality, productivity, and on-time delivery
- 5+ years of advanced CNC programming and machining experience
- Strong experience with 5-axis mill/turn machining
- Advanced CNC programming and setup experience
- Strong CAD/CAM knowledge
- Experience with Autodesk Fusion and Siemens controls
- Strong understanding of GD&T, inspection methods, tooling, and machining processes
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Machining, Toolmaking, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- The ideal candidate is an experienced CNC machinist/programmer who is comfortable working with complex 5-axis machining, mill/turn applications, CNC programming, setup, and process optimization.
- You should enjoy solving technical machining challenges and finding ways to improve efficiency, quality, and production.
