Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair tasks across the organization's residential properties. This role includes conducting routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and performing minor repairs on various systems. The Facilities Technician will work closely with the Facilities Manager to ensure the properties are well‑maintained and safe for tenants.
Job Requirements- Practical experience in general construction and plumbing.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of maintenance and construction tasks.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
- Proficiency with Yardi Property Management software is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining the properties.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in physically demanding conditions, including handling weights up to 50 lbs.
- Valid Driver's License, Criminal Record Check, WHMIS certification, and additional safety training are required.
- Perform general construction and plumbing tasks within residential settings.
- Conduct maintenance tasks, including plaster/drywall repair, flooring installation, painting, and kitchen cabinetry repair.
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on heating, electrical, plumbing systems, and appliances.
- Install windows, doors, and construct decks.
- Participate in preventative maintenance programs.
- Ensure timely completion of routine maintenance jobs and repairs.
- Clean vacant units and remove debris.
- Assist in accessibility improvements and energy efficiency programs.
- Document all progress and data points for tasks completed.
- Coordinate and respond to maintenance emergencies as required.
- Collaborate with the capital repair team for major projects as needed.
- General maintenance projects.
- Preventative maintenance, accessibility improvements, and energy‑efficiency upgrades.
- Adhere to Rooted’s safety program.
- Conducting regular worksite inspections, contractor sign‑off and following our program as required.
- Sharing the on‑call responsibilities (weekly rotating basis) and may change periodically given growth and emergency call requirements.
$25.00 - 28.00 / Hour
A successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on various factors such as skills, experience, training and credentials, as well as other business purposes or needs.
