Senior Software Engineer

Senior Engineer – Guidewire Claim Center (Contract)

Anywhere in Canada, if close to an office of the client. 2‑day/week onsite required.

Must be eligible to work in Canada.

• Design & Development: Lead the design and development of complex application features, acting as the technical lead for medium‑to‑large initiatives.
• Solution Architecture: Collaborate with solution analysts and business stakeholders to produce technical designs that align with enterprise standards.
• SDLC Ownership: Manage the software development process from user story decomposition and requirement review through to final delivery.
• Code Quality: Conduct peer code and design reviews, providing coaching to junior team members to maintain high‑quality coding standards.
• Integration & Configuration: Develop and configure software within existing enterprise platforms, managing dependencies across integrated systems and data.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure robust delivery through the creation and execution of automated tests and the enhancement of existing testing frameworks.

• Guidewire
  
  Experience:
  
  At least 5 years of hands‑on experience in Guidewire application development specifically on the Claim Center platform.
• Cloud Proficiency: Experience with Guidewire Cloud is highly preferred;
  Guidewire Certified (Associate or ACE) is a significant asset.
• Technical Stack: Solid skills in GOSU, web services, and database management. Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, Team City, Jira, and Confluence is an asset.
• Industry Knowledge: Previous experience within the Insurance industry is a major plus.
• Soft Skills: Proven ability to foster teamwork, excellent analytical problem‑solving skills, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Software Development or a related field.
