Must be a licensed registered dietitian
Desired Qualifications- 1. Registered by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics on the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- 2. Current state licensure (if required by the state).
- 3. Meets all applicable state/licensing requirements.
- 4. Minimum of 1-year professional work experience in clinical nutrition as a registered dietitian (after becoming a registered dietitian).
- 5. If state regulations permit, the 1 year of experience requirement may be waived if work is supervised by a qualified dietitian until 1 year of clinical experience has been obtained. Dietitians without 1 year of experience would not be qualified to complete patient assessments, develop plans of care, or take responsibility for the QAPI program.
- 6. ESRD nutrition experience preferred.
- 7. Maintains registration and continuing education as required by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- 8. Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics membership preferred.
- 9. Ability to read and interpret safety, operating, and procedure documents.
- 10. Effective communication skills with clients and staff.
- Consult with patient and family concerning nutrition needs and goals.
- Check menu plans to ensure they meet nutritional needs of patients and to ensure quality food service.
