History Teacher

Teacher of History – Darwen, Lancashire

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of History for a full‑time role at a mainstream secondary school in Darwen, Lancashire. The position will commence in November 2026 and run until July 2027.

• Teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that promote student progress.
• Assess, monitor and report on student attainment and development.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Contribute to the wider life of the Humanities department and school community.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching History within UK secondary schools.
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for History.
• Commitment to raising achievement and inspiring young people.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

Full‑time, initially until July 2027. This is a temporary position with the possibility of becoming permanent later. Pay includes statutory holiday pay.

All candidates will be required to have a valid DBS check. All candidates will also receive child protection and prevent duty training.
