To support this period of change, the Council is looking to strengthen its committed Building Control team through the appointment of a Registered Building Inspector. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Council's Building Safety Act responsibilities and delivering high quality Building Control services across the borough and beyond.
You will join a dynamic and motivated team, undertaking restricted functions and activities appropriate to your level of competency, while receiving support and supervision to further develop your skills and progress your career. The Council welcomes applications from candidates currently registered at Class 2A or above. Registration as a Class 2A and 2B Registered Building Inspector, maintaining competency through approved assessment schemes.
- HNC, HND or NVQ Level 4 qualification in Building Studies or a related construction discipline.
- Willingness to undertake further training and to work towards Degree / Chartered Corporate Membership level status of RICS, CABE or CIOB.
- Theoretical knowledge and understanding of the full range of duties expected of a Class 2A and 2B Registered Building Inspector.
- Excellent communication skills together with the ability to present the Building Control Service to customers.
