We are looking for an experienced manufacturing leader to take ownership of our chemical solvent facility in Darwen. This is a high impact role where you will guide people, drive performance and build a safe, consistent and continuously improving operation.
You will play a key role in how the site performs day to day while helping shape how we work in the future.## Why this role matters
The solvent based plant is a vital part of our production operation. How it performs directly impacts our customers, our people and our ability to deliver.
This role gives you the opportunity to manage a capable team, influence standards and make meaningful improvements across safety, quality, delivery and cost.
You will lead the safe and efficient running of the plant, ensuring strong performance and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.## You'll have full autonomy to:
* Lead and develop a team including a Shift Manager, Shift Leaders, Quality Control Technician and operators
* Create a culture where safety is prioritised and standards are consistently applied
* Drive performance across key measures including Right First Time, service levels and plan adherence
* Use data and Lean principles to find opportunities and improve performance
* Ensure production plans are delivered on time and in full
* Maintain high standards of product quality and plant hygiene
* Manage operational budgets and support delivery of cost targets
* Build strong cross functional relationships across Engineering, Supply Chain, QA, R&D and Operational Leadership
* Contribute to the delivery of site and business strategy## What we are looking forA confident leader who combines strong operational experience with a people focused approach is sought. Someone who leads from the front, builds trust and challenges teams to improve.## You will bring
* Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing or production environment
* Experience working in a shift based operation
* Strong understanding of health and safety within a higher risk manufacturing setting
* Experience driving performance improvements using Lean or continuous improvement methods
* Experience working with KPIs and operational data
* Strong communication and stakeholder skills
* A proactive approach and the confidence to challenge ways of working
* Degree level education in a relevant field
