Area Supervisor

About the Role

Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership team responsible for a specific area of the store. The supervisor manages opening and closing the store, supervising associates, maintaining merchandising standards, and executing company operational processes. The Area Supervisor serves as Manager on Duty when needed, ensuring a friendly and efficient shopping environment.

• Maintain a safe and secure environment by practicing safe behaviors, correcting unsafe conditions, and securing the building, cash office, and register area.
• Ensure customer safety by preventing accidents, reporting incidents, and following emergency procedures.
• Represent the Ross brand at all times, maintaining a professional appearance and ensuring all associates adhere to the dress code.
• Keep all areas clean, merchandised to standard, and remove daily trash.
• Process merchandise with urgency, manage receiving and stockroom organization, and ensure floor moves and promotional signing.
• Execute loss prevention best practices, safeguard confidential information, and conduct package inspections.
• Coach associates on front-end procedures, manage break schedules, and maintain equipment and supplies.
• Support fitting rooms, audit garment tags, and ensure compliance with go-back procedures.

• Excellent verbal communication skills and fluency in English.
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations used in retail environments.
• Work evenings, weekends, and stand for up to 100% of the shift.

Ability to use all store equipment, stand, walk, move, bend, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop. Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs. Janitorial equipment and rolling racks may be used. Stockroom shifts require pushing, pulling, and lifting more than 20 lbs.
