Accounts Receivable & Collections Assistant

Description

We are recommending an Accounts Receivable & Collections Assistant to support a growing client with customer account management and payment follow-up activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys customer interaction, problem-solving, and building professional relationships while helping ensure timely payment of invoices.

The majority of your day will be spent communicating with customers regarding upcoming invoice due dates, outstanding receivables, invoice requests, and account-related questions.

Key Responsibilities

+ Make outbound calls to customers regarding invoices that are approaching their due date

+ Follow up on past-due accounts and outstanding balances

+ Send copies of invoices and supporting documentation as requested

+ Research and document customer inquiries and payment commitments

+ Coordinate with internal teams to resolve billing questions and account discrepancies

+ Escalate customer concerns to the appropriate departments when needed

+ Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and account activity

+ Deliver professional, customer-focused service while helping maintain timely payment activity and healthy customer accounts

Requirements

Qualifications

+ Previous experience in Accounts Receivable, Collections, Billing, Customer Service, Call Center, Banking, or a related field

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills

+ Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls

+ Ability to build rapport and maintain professionalism during payment-related conversations

+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business software applications

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

Preferred Experience

+ Managing aging Accounts Receivable balances

+ Business-to-business (B2B) accounts receivable or payment follow-up

+ Billing or invoicing support

+ Customer account management

+ Payment application and cash posting

+ High-volume phone-based customer service environments
