Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician

We are seeking an experienced OB Hospitalist Physician to provide locum coverage at aLevel III hospital in Davenport, Iowa. The position offers flexible 12- or24-hour hospital call shifts with weekend coverage and a supportive work environment.

Assignment Details:

• Shift Type: 12-hour (8 AM - 8 PM) or 24-hour (8 AM - 8 AM) hospital call shifts
• Schedule: Monday-Friday with some weekends; NO OVERTIME
• Call Ratio : 1:5, schedule available 1-2 months in advance
• Practice Setting : OB & GYN, hospital-based, trauma Level III
• On-Call Requirements: 12 or 24 hours, flat rate with on-site sleep room provided

Key Responsibilities:


Obstetrics:

• Manage low-risk pregnancies (e.g., twins, toxemia, pyelonephritis)
• Manage high-risk pregnancies (e.g., toxemia, diabetes, Class II+ cardiac, chronic lung/renal disease)
• FHR interpretation - NST/CST/FSE
• Perform OB Level I/screening ultrasounds (viability)
• Amniocentesis

Labor& Delivery:

• Routine deliveries: vaginal, low-forceps, decision-making for C-section
• Complicated deliveries: C-section, breech, multiple births, abruptions
• VBACs
• Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations

Gynecology:

• Open surgical gynecology
• Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor procedures (tubal ligation, LOA's, chromal tubation)
• Operative/major procedures including ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOAs

Qualifications:

• Board Certified in OB/GYN (FM OB not accepted)
• Active Iowa license or IMLC with LOQ at time of submission
• Fetal monitoring experience
