Job DescriptionSeeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to support our Aerospace and Automotive Products business unit within our metals production, fabrication, and aluminum facilities.
Operations around the world with manufacturing and commercial sites in North America, South America, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, Asia, and Russia. Our high‑quality materials serve aerospace, automotive, commercial transportation, building and construction, industrial, and packaging and consumer goods markets.
ResponsibilitiesThe Staff Electrical Engineer will provide electrical engineering services to the Hot Rolling department to meet our business plan.
Duties include:
- Provide support to production, maintenance, and engineering teams.
- Ensure electrical systems are safely integrated with manufacturing and support upgrades of existing equipment.
- Coordinate all phases of electrical engineering projects from concept through commissioning.
- Lead and participate in problem‑solving efforts with maintenance and production staff.
- Use PI Vision and Data Link to analyze process issues and solve problems.
- Create and develop electrical control solutions for process improvements and equipment reliability.
- Assist production and maintenance with equipment and process issues.
- Redesign and upgrade PLC/HMI controls of existing processes.
- Install and troubleshoot camera systems on industrial equipment.
- Incorporate SMART Manufacturing principles into automated inspection systems.
- Mentor employees as needed.
- Provide outside‑of‑shift support as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience as an electrical engineer.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience designing, installing, and maintaining electromechanical systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Visa sponsorship not available. Position requires U.S. person status per ITAR.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 12 years of experience in a manufacturing facility.
- 5 years’ experience with PLCs, HMIs, AC/DC drives, motors, and measuring devices.
- 3+ years leading electrical projects.
- Manufacturing experience in a highly industrial environment.
- Proficiency with Rockwell programming software (RS Logix, Factory View).
- Senior level (Mid‑Senior).
