The Therapist is responsible for providing individual and group therapy sessions for adults (18 + years) with anxiety, depressive, and personality disorders in a specialized outpatient facility.
Schedule:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 4:30 pm – 8:30 pm
- Exemplify 5‑Star Service to clients, team members, referents, and families.
- Assess therapeutic needs, determine appropriate interventions, and conduct individual and group therapy sessions per client needs.
- Complete psychosocial evaluations, treatment plans, contact logs, discharge plans, and other required documentation in compliance with state and payer guidelines.
- Conduct weekly individual and family therapy sessions for assigned caseload.
- Monitor behavioral interventions and provide skills coaching as needed.
- Conduct and/or co‑lead specialized groups based on education and experience.
- Maintain therapeutic relationship with clients, using praise and reinforcers to encourage appropriate behaviors.
- Set limits and hold boundaries in a firm, kind manner.
- Demonstrate effective verbal crisis intervention and de‑escalation, involving staff as needed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to coordinate client care from admission through discharge.
- Attend weekly clinical, consultation, and business meetings; present cases as assigned.
- Communicate client progress with referral sources, families, or guardians.
Position requires a master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, or psychology, and a minimum of one year’s experience working with clients with primary mental health diagnoses.
Must hold Iowa State licensure (LMSW, LMHC, or Temporary MHC) in good standing.
Other Requirements- Valid driver’s license.
- Clearance of TB test, fingerprinting, and state/federal requirements.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
