HR Manager, Talent Manager
Arconic is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) based at its plant in Davenport, Iowa. This role reports to the HR Manager.
Arconic’s Rolled Products offers a range of highly-differentiated aluminum sheet and plate products for the aerospace, automotive, commercial transportation, brazing, and industrial markets. Since its opening in 1948, the Davenport Works has been at the forefront of American manufacturing and has maintained its position as the world’s premier aerospace supply plant.
ResponsibilitiesThe HRBP will partner with local operations leadership to remove obstacles to achieving the plant’s annual business plan. The person will work on improving employee engagement and retention, staffing (posting, interviewing, selecting), compensation, performance coaching, investigations, and other day-to‑day needs. Work hours are primarily day shift, Monday through Friday, but the job requires schedule flexibility for back shifts and weekends as needed.
Occasional travel may be required, up to 25% of the time.
- Provide one‑stop HR support for the plants, including labor relations.
- Lead HR functions (staffing, labor relations, onboarding, investigations, etc.).
- Provide timely counsel and communication to employees and managers and handle people metrics.
- Work with locations to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing (via Work Brain).
- Complete internal audits accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure mandated corporate training is completed and provide training as needed.
- Ensure employment practices comply with collective bargaining agreements, equal‑employment‑opportunity laws, and Arconic policy and values.
- Stay current with local, state, and federal EEO laws.
- Perform special HR projects or other duties as assigned.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and listening skills.
- Ability to coach managers and employees in difficult situations.
- Strong problem‑solving and confidentiality skills.
- Results‑oriented and objective.
- Proficient in HR systems and duties.
- Resourceful, quick‑thinking, and forward‑thinking.
- Experience with organizational design and development.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of five years’ HR responsibilities.
- Experience with a unionized workforce.
- Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
