The Maintenance Unit Supervisor is a salary position accountable for providing leadership and direction to assigned members of a union crew, as well as providing technical troubleshooting to identify maintenance issues and develop solutions. The role provides technical leadership and training to mechanical and electrical craft employees. Under the direction of the Area Technical Leader, the supervisor ensures productivity, safety, quality, improved recovery, reliable performance, and rapid problem solving in a cost‑effective, customer‑centric environment.

• Supervise mechanical crafts within the 3 Central Shops departments, acting as a resource for maintenance guidance to craftsmen and other manufacturing personnel.
• Execute planned and unplanned work to meet department goals.
• Maintain a safe work environment and a workplace that causes no harm to people or the environment.
• Lead individual safety discussions and job‑specific safety reviews.
• Support operating results through crew management with emphasis on quantity, quality, timeliness, safety, recovery, and delivery performance.
• Ensure work is allocated fairly and clearly assigned to crew members; formulate and assign tasks within guidelines established by Department management, prioritizing work based on business criticality.
• Decide and deploy appropriate crewing arrangements for planned and unplanned situations based on absences, schedule requirements, equipment availability, and vacations within labor agreement guidelines.
• Work with craftspeople to apply root cause analysis and rapid problem‑solving techniques to maintain or restore production.
• Seek cooperation from, persuade, or influence others, and develop relationships to resolve problems; motivate or negotiate when required.

• This position will supervise craft employees on the 10pm‑6am shift in the Central Shops.

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on maintenance experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience with direct reports.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

• Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing and/or union environment.
• Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and practices related to HR/IR, including bargaining and local agreements.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and concepts.

This position requires access to controlled technology as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Authorizations from the relevant government agency may be required to meet export control compliance requirements.
