• Develop and create prototype components of various levels of complexity utilizing the design engineering prints and information as a guide.
• Design, develop and fabricate various types of fixturing (assembly, machining).
• Recommend modifications to improve the design and products (function, assembly, cost, durability, tooling, manufacturability, and reliability).
• Collaborate with product development teams to understand design requirements and specifications.
• Construct prototypes and mock-ups of new products, considering materials, manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques.
• Conduct testing and evaluation of prototypes to assess their functionality, performance, and compliance with design specifications.
• Support engineering teams in the development and implementation of product design improvements and cost reduction initiatives.
• Support Industrialization of designs and developments.
• Perform 1st piece layouts and verify that each product will adhere to the most current Quality Assurance Standards.
• Assemble and evaluate the fit and function of each component in an assembly.
• Proficiently operate hand tools, lathes, milling machines, drill press, band and cutoff saws, grinder, shear, press brake, welder, inspection equipment.
• Meet internal welding certification requirements by passing the annual welding test.
• Locate and complete the necessary transaction to obtain materials from product inventory.
• Develop and Fabricate components and fixturing for the production departments on an as needed basis.
• Troubleshoot and repair machines as required.
• Prepare and package the finished product.
• Assist production with the implementation of new products.
• Assist with the development and implementation of goals and plans of action consistent with company objectives.
