Position SummaryConducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance service.
Responsibilities- Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
- Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnoses problems, replaces, or repairs parts, tests, and adjusts.
- Performs regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
- Performs a variety of plumbing maintenance and electrical functions.
- Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detects faulty operations, and defective material, and reports those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed.
- One-year certificate from college or technical school, six months to one-year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Technical training; exposure to meat processing equipment.
- 2 years of related experience in food strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Work is performed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
