Automation Technician

We’re seeking an Automation Technician to support production by ensuring automated equipment runs safely, efficiently, and reliably. This hands‑on role focuses on real‑time troubleshooting, PLC/HMI adjustments, and supporting both Controls Engineering and Maintenance teams to maximize uptime and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and adjust automated and PLC‑controlled equipment during production
  • Perform minor PLC logic edits and parameter changes
  • Diagnose faults and restore equipment using HMI interfaces
  • Support electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic troubleshooting efforts
  • Assist with equipment startups, changeovers, and commissioning updates
  • Perform I/O checks, sensor verification, and minor wiring repairs
  • Support integration of sensors, drives, vision systems, and safety devices
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on uptime and scrap reduction
  • Communicate equipment status and corrective actions with cross‑functional teams
  • Follow all safety protocols, including LOTO and PPE
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; technical certification preferred
  • 2+ years supporting automated equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of PLC/HMI systems (Allen‑Bradley or similar)
  • Experience with electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and ladder logic
  • CMMS experience preferred
  • Manufacturing/warehouse setting with industrial equipment exposure
  • Local travel between facilities may be required
