Days Position will require some call. Must be within 30-minute drive to hospital.

Advent Health Heart of Florida is a licensed 193-bed acute care hospital, coupled with outpatient services including imaging, rehab, lab and wound care, that has been serving the community for over 50 years.

The role you'll contribute:

Responsible for overseeing the continual operation of the Cath Lab to ensure high-quality patient care and services. This position demonstrates critical thinking, creativity, and resource management to achieve quality performance, positive employee relations, and compliance with hospital and American College of Cardiology guidelines. This role involves coaching, mentoring, and leading a professional and technical team in delivering services to Cath Lab patients.

Additionally, this position monitors the quality of care delivered to patients, administers medications and treatments as prescribed, and ensures effective stewardship of resources. Responsibilities for this role include acting as a change agent, implementing necessary changes in collaboration with the Manager/Director, and maintaining respectful relationships with patients, families, colleagues, physicians, and other contacts.

  • Monitors performance of the staff and reports findings to the Senior Nurse Manager or takes corrective action for improvement as appropriate.
  • Mentors, educates, and coaches employees on a continual basis in order to assure competency in care delivery.
  • Develops staff preceptors and mentors.
  • Assists in staffing to provide direct patient care as needed.
  • Supports performance improvement activities on the unit through problem identification, assessment, data gathering, change implementation, and evaluation of outcomes.
  • Supports the planning, organizing, and leading of the unit through application of critical thinking skills.
  • Understands the broad impact of reimbursement on the delivery of patient care services, including but not limited to Medicare, Managed care, Medicaid, third party providers, challenges to current health care policies, and key legislative initiatives at the local, state, and national level.
Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

Associates degree or Diploma in Nursing

Specific experience as delineated by the unit of employment (see competencies)

Current valid State of Florida or multi state license as a Registered Nurse

BLS certification

Advanced Life Support certification (ACLS)
