Communication Data Link is seeking a skilled Underground Utility Drill Operator to join our underground construction team. This role involves operating directional drilling equipment to install underground utilities such as fiber duct, conduit, and cable. The ideal candidate will have experience with drill rigs, vacuum excavation, and locating systems, and a strong commitment to safety and precision.

Responsibilities and Qualifications- Operate directional drilling rigs and associated equipment (e.g., vacuum excavators, fluid mixing systems)
- Install underground utilities using trenchless methods including horizontal directional drilling
- Read and interpret utility maps, blueprints, and job specifications
- Perform pre- and post-operation inspections and routine maintenance on equipment
- Coordinate with locators and crew members to ensure safe and accurate drilling paths
- Maintain accurate records of bore paths, depths, and project progress
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies
- Previous experience operating a mini excavator, backhoe, skid steer required
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions, snow, rain, heat, wind, etc.
- Follow all company rules and policies
- Lead and always maintain safety standards
- Good verbal communication skills
- Occasional travel is required
