Fiber Technician at Metronet is an exciting opportunity to install and maintain high‑speed fiber‑optic services for residential and business customers. Join us to bring reliable connectivity to the community.
Essential Job Functions- Install and troubleshoot all Metronet services from the terminal to Customer Premise Equipment (CPE).
- Provide in‑depth customer education on all Metronet products and services.
- Earn commissions by explaining Metronet services and products to all customers.
- Maintain professionalism with customers and fellow associates.
- Work toward meeting key performance metrics.
- Perform other job‑related duties as requested.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred but not required: experience with a telecom/fiber company.
- Physical ability to work from a kneeling or standing position for long periods.
- Physical ability to work in various conditions, including attics, crawl spaces, and adverse weather.
- Physical ability to climb ladders up to 25 feet with proper safety equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry loads up to 75 lbs, including a ladder.
- Ability to use basic hand tools and specialized equipment with training.
- Operate and maintain company vehicle/equipment safely and professionally.
- Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
- Willingness to work as part of a team and independently.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Job Requirements
- Perform on‑call rotation duties after regular business hours.
- Available to work overtime, including holidays and weekends, as needed.
- Available to travel for training or other business needs.
