Senior Accountant

Location:

Daventry (Hybrid)
£28.21 to £33.33 per hour
6 month contract (possibly 9 months)
Full-time, 6–9 month assignment, 3 days onsite, 2 days WFH
We’re recruiting on behalf of a respected organisation seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to support its finance team during a period of leave. This hybrid role offers a blend of onsite collaboration and remote flexibility.

About the role:

You will be responsible for maintaining core general ledger activities, delivering accurate financial analysis, and ensuring robust internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

* Analyse, record, and report accounting transactions
 
* Prepare general ledger entries and account reconciliations
 
* Produce balance sheets, P&L statements and financial reports
 
* Respond to queries from management, auditors and SOX teams
 
* Review and strengthen internal controls
 
* Recommend process improvements and best‑practice procedures
 
* Maintain confidentiality of financial information

About you:

* Qualified or part-qualified accountant
 
* Strong accounting fundamentals
 
* Experience with month-end closing
 
* Skilled in inventory accounting
 
* Solid balance sheet reconciliation experience
 
* Ideally, exposure to systems accounting
